"Spread Out and Scatter" is an experimental and progressive music outlet from my home studio explorations. This is my debut solo music CD project. In the past most of my music has been used for video and film production. On "Spread Out and Scatter" I sing vocals, play all of the instruments, programmed the keyboards, drums and sounds. This CD includes hundreds of sounds, instruments and a variety of drum beats that the human ear has never heard before. The quality of the audio is somewhat studio sounding but at times you may hear some noises in the background. All the material on this CD was written by myself with the exception of a cover version of "It's All Over Now" written by Bobby & Shirley Womack. The music from "Spread Out and Scatter" offers several styles of music including Electronic, Rock, Classical, Psychedelic, Techno, Latin, European and Acoustic. The creative arrangements mixed with these various styles of music makes each song a listening adventure.

Something about the songs on this CD. . . . . "Spread Out and Scatter" this is the title track, electronic synth sounding with some interesting music breaks in it. This song is about getting your creative juices flowing and putting your creativity into the airwaves. To be able to create something from nothing is a gift we all have. Creative expression on all levels of what you do in your life is important. Remember, true creativity has no boundaries or limits... There are many artists out there worried about what people think about what they produce or create. Don't let this all get you down.... time to just "Spread Out and Scatter" all your creative energies. The song "Lonely Wanderer" is a ballad I wrote about teenage runaways that are (lost in a daydream searching for reality) looking for something better in life. Between 1.3 and 2.8 million runaway and homeless children live on the streets of America each year. One in seven children will run away from home before the age of 18. This cover song "It's All Over Now" features special guest vocalist DD Martin. It was an honor for me to have DD appear on this track. DD Martin is a seasoned pro that worked with many talented musicians during her career. I feel this arrangement is different than any version out there. "Vacation in San Tropez" is a techno instrumental with sound bites from sounds you may hear when you go on a vacation. In case anyone is curious Saint-Tropez is in southern France, located on the French Riviera. No I have never physically been to Saint Tropez, but in my mind I have. The song and ideas for "Inscription to this Garden Gate" came from a garden I visited in Aruba... some of the lyrics I used were inscripted on the gardens gate entrance. My lovely wife Judy helped me out with the vocals on this one. "You and Everybody Else" is a simple, lazy happy sounding instrumental that has a latin style rhythm, sax, keyboard/guitar solo, some acoustic guitar playing along with the Tijuana Brass Section providing extra punch. "What Loves Means to Me" brings me to one thing in mind - pure love = Gods love. Nothing can get better than to be blessed with this love. Some of the lyrics came to me after a Christian service I attended.This psychedelic arrangement has a Middle Eastern flavor using a Cosmonaut Voice effect with some sitar playing. The pounding instrumental of "Power Drive 08" has jazz rock influences. It breaks into a guitar lick with some radio tuning in the distance. One of my favorite highlights is the guitar solo toward the end. After my Dad passed away in 2007 . . . . "Remember Those Days" was the first song I wrote. My Dad was more than just a Dad to me he was a great man and a hard act to follow. The first concentration camps were built in 1933 to imprison Hitler's political enemies. An estimated 6 million Jews and 5 million other minorities died during World War II, a majority of them in these camps. I was influenced to write "Loud, Loud, Loud, Loud" after reading a term paper for a school project that was completed by my daughter Kelsey. I couldn't believe the conditions along with the torture and pain given to the prisoners during World War II. For those who know me are familiar with my attraction to special effects and to great movies. When it first came out the Day the Earth Stood Still movie was one classic that everyone was talking about. My contribution to this is "The Earth Stood Still" which includes some voice samples from the movie. My conducting the orchestra and playing cathedral organ chords written from the original movie theme by Bernard Herrmann makes this a challenging music score.
